A lot of business owners have been using their own domain names for years. There are many benefits to this: you can make your course site look like a professional company, and it makes it easier for students to find your site on the internet. When you create an account on Coursium, we give you the option to use your own custom domain from any provider. You'll need to use your own web hosting service in order to point your domain at the site that hosts Coursium.

1. Click on ‘Custom Domains’ under App.

2. Next step is to add your domain URL and also add Coursium’s IP Address to your domain DNS ‘A Record’ area.

3. A pop up window will show up. You can make the domain URL as a default URL for all links or you can assign the domain for selected pages only.

4. If you will select the ‘page’ only, you will also need to select  the page type if it’s for the ‘Video Page’ or ‘Audio Page’. Select the page you want. Click ‘Save’.

5. For this tutorial, we’ll be using subdomain for all our links.

6. Click ‘Save’. After that, you’ll already see that your domain has been linked.

7. The next step is to copy the Coursium IP address to our subdomain DNS area and add it to our A record.

8. For this tutorial, we are using Cloudflare. This will work okay for all domain registrars. All you have to do is to google on how to add a 3rd party IP address to my domain DNS.

For Cloudflare, click on the ‘DNS’ tab.

9. Click on ‘Add Record’ and select the ‘A’ type.

10. Provide a ‘Name’ for your DNS record and on the ‘IPv4 address’ box, place the Coursium IP address that we copied. Click ‘Save’.

11. Once done, you’ll see the record you added.

Note: It might take up to 48 hours for your links to get propagated and accessible globally.

12. To have our videos on the new domain URL, we just need to assign it. Open an existing video in Coursium and go to ‘Custom Domain’ at the top part and select the new domain you added.

13. If you want to check it out. Click on the ‘Share’ button and just copy the URL and open it in a new tab and you can already see your customized domain.
